Belief in oneself is fostered over time.
Many of us have heard the phrase “Fake it until you make it”— confidence often works in similarity to this concept.
When you are feeling small, your strengths “insignificant”, you can trick your mind into growing more confident by convincing yourself you truly ARE confident!
Whether we will admit it to ourselves (or especially others!), we have all faced or will face a time in our lives where our faith in ourselves will be tested, when our budding confidence may feel as if a lie. We’ll find ourselves feeling we cannot overcome whatever obstacle we have found barring our path to personal growth. We may even say our “lies” about having faith in ourselves is masquerading “imposter syndrome” (another subject we will touch upon later in other posts).
What if we turned that negativity around and reminded ourselves of strength? Courage? Intellect?
If we tell ourselves often enough we are smart, strong, capable, culpable, CONFIDENT individuals, eventually, we will believe it.
Try to remember though, confidence is an ongoing process and your confidence will be tested time and again.
But, with regular reminders we will be confident, we will vanquish the enemies we erect in our minds.
