It’s all too easy to fall into traps of dwindling self-confidence.
Often we find ourselves at a crossroads, real or imagined, and do not know where to go or how to get to where we wish to be.
This can leave us feeling worthless, something is impossible, or we lack the skills or capability to accomplish something. Sometimes we feel we have yet to achieve our goals or the goals established for us when faced with an obstacle to overcome.
But as easy as it may be to fall victim to this downward and self-defeating spiral of negative thinking— which can create lack of activity or movement forward (stagnation or stillness of thoughts and movement)— it is vital we remember one key thing: EVERYONE faces setbacks.
All humans either have or will have at some point in their lives be faced with being down in a metaphorical hole with no idea how to get out, but what one does next is the most important step to overcoming the setbacks which leech our confidence.
If we try to look from a different angle— or perhaps approach the situation with a different method than we’ve tried before— as long as we push forward and keep trying to manufacture a solution, then no setback (no matter how dire it may seem) can ever truly best of us in a contest of wills.
